Medicine
Medical Journal Submission Guidelines
MedicineIncludes links to instructions for submissions to a large number of journals. Useful when translating for submission. Thanks to Zachery Braverman for the link.
eMedicine Clinical Knowledge Base (E)
MedicineThis is a clinically-oriented portal site. They also offer email alerts, review articles, etc. In my experience, the most useful thing about this site is the Resource Lookup (the search window on the upper-left). This lets you search articles on thousands of different diseases and conditions which give all the background information one would need for a translation on an unfamiliar subject.
Thanks to Zachary Braverman for the review.
Dark's Medical Dictionary (E-E)
MedicineDr. Graham Dark's creation including terms from "biochemistry, cell biology, chemistry, medicine, molecular biology, physics, plant biology, radiobiology, science and technology" and acryonyms.
Thanks to Zachary Braverman for the original entry.
Life Science Dictionary (LSD)
MedicineA life science dictionary put together by the folks at Kyoto University. Less comprehensive but more reliable than Eijiro. This site also is cross-referenced with Pub-Med in such a way that you can see words you look up in actual usage in journal articles. Very useful when you need to find out how a given word is used in "the real world". This site also lets you download the dictionary to use on your harddrive with programs like Jamming, and has Japanese henkan and English spelling libraries for free downloading.
Go to the top page for other tools. In the E to J sections, select composite for the "gamen-e-no shutsuryoku keishiki-o" box to get a list of words that can be used to create a vocabulary list. Thanks to Zachary Braverman for this review.
