How do I add more than one specialty for translating in my profile?
Submitted by J trip on 23 November 2009 - 4:42am. Site helpHi there all.
I'd like to add more than one specialty to the 'translating' section of my profile, but can't figure out how to do it. It seems I can only select one specialty. I tried logging out and adding another one later, but it just replaced the old specialty with the new one. Any tips on how to add more than one would be greatly appreciated. I noticed many users have more than one specialty, so there must be a way to do it!
Thanks, from one who is not very technologically savvy.
Dragon NaturallySpeaking preferred version
Submitted by usha_j on 13 September 2009 - 3:37am. Site chatHi there,
I've been planning to buy a good speech recognition software for working on long reports, and wondered what fellow honyakkers had to say regarding what's out there in the market. Amazon.com offers the Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 Preferred version for US$150, but I thought I'd confirm that I won't be left with a typo-filled page of gibberish needing extensive editing before I put the money down. The comments on Amazon are mixed at best, which doesn't make it easy.
Your thoughts and feedback are greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
watarihaisen

update FAQ, remove spam from comments
Submitted by hi_chair on 2 October 2007 - 1:05am. Site suggestionsThe FAQ still lists the Honyaku mailing list as being a Yahoo Group, and that particular entry is flooded with spam about (of all things!) bird feeders. It would be nice to have that fixed.
Add to fields of specialization

Naval Architecture/Marine Engineering/Shipping
Thanks and keep up the good work.
Specific fields for each language pair
Submitted by Jon on 25 August 2006 - 11:38am. Site suggestionsPerhaps there should be a way to associate fields of specialisation with specific langauge pairs.
For example, I translate civil engineering documents, maps, and drawings from Chinese to English but have no experience translating similar material from Japanese to English. Or, I've translated Linux-related manuals and books from Japanese to English but have no experience translating similar material from Chinese to English.
